Infinix Hot S Unboxing And First Impressions

I must admit that this is the very first time Infinix comes up with a phone that greatly impresses me with the design. I’m not saying in any way that previous designs are so bad, but this is outstanding. Infinix Hot S doesn’t feel like a cheap phone when held, and a first look at the phone makes me suddenly start to justify the unusual price tag for a device in the Hot product line.

Here are the items found in the box apart from the device:

• 1 USB cable
• 1 pair of earphones
• User manual
• 1 ejector pin

It’s a device with a 5.2-inch display, a balance between going for a hefty 5.5-inch phablet and a modest 5-inch device. We got the Hot S in champagne gold, and it sure looks good.

Infinix Hot S has a modest 5.2-inch screen with a 720p resolution. It comes with physical soft keys at the bottom of the screen, and an 8MP camera sits at the top towards the left.

The are two speaker grills at the bottom, but only one appears to be for the speaker; the other one is for the microphone. The micro-USB port is placed just between.

Being the first Infinix device with a fingerprint sensor, I still find it hard to believe the unlock speed appears to be faster than my iPhone 6s Plus. We’ll get to look at this more in the review though. A 13MP camera is centrally placed at the back with the dual-LED flash just below it.

Infinix Hot S looks like a great device and makes a bold first impression. Unlike XUI that still retains some of the look of stock Android OS, XOS is fully customized and looks good. The fingerprint sensor is very sensitive and unlocks fast.

Of course, every device has its cons, we will explore the device fully to fish these out in the full review to be published next week.
