How to Link your Facebook Account with Twitter and Vice Versa

My Twitter account got linked to Facebook like a year or two ago and ever since, my tweets automatically appear on Facebook as status updates (with via twitter written under the posts). This lets me update my profile on both social networks at the same time. The only drawback was that only I could only send tweets to Facebook, I couldn't update my status on Facebook and then send it to Twitter as a tweet. With a large picture of my ugly face in the background, I've always loved my twitter page because it allows me to personalize it to my taste, change text and link colors and mimic my blog's theme. As you can post new topics from WordPress to Twitter and Facebook using your RSS feed, it's a bit different for SMF because using the default RSS feed will not post new topics, but replies to topics. I was using SA Facebook plugin to accomplish this on my SMF forum but for some unknown reasons, the mod always stopped working after a while.
