Three weeks back I bought my first android Smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia 10. Before buying the phone, I was using a BlackBerry 9800 with Airtel monthly BIS subscription and I thought all was well. Well, the android phone did what I never expected. The 1GB data allocated to monthly BIS subscription with Airtel was finished within the first week of the service. Whatsapp is probably the most widely used instant messaging application on Android and since it's cross-platform, it's used on iOS, Blackberry OS and other mobile operating systems as well. I've used it (and still use it sometimes) on my iPhone 3GS and I love it but on crossing over to Android, I noticed the notification badge conuter I used to have for new messages doesn't work on Android. On a post I wrote earlier about removing location from Facebook status updates, a number people inquired on how to do this on Facebook for Android app since the guide given in that article doesn't apply to the mobile app. This can be done easily by turning off GPS service on the phone completely but not everyone wants to do this. The first time I tried sending a long SMS on my Android device, it got converted to a multimedia message (MMS) and the recipient didn't even get the message because it wasn't a multimedia phone. On most Android devices, when your SMS exceeds three pages, it automatically gets converted to MMS. I tried checking the message settings maybe this is something that could be adjusted but there was absolutely nothing there to change this.
