Fix: Missing BigBoss, ModMyi & ZodTTD Repo in Cydia

fix missing big boss repo

A few weeks back, I jailbroke my iPhone running iOS 6.0.1 but was surprised to launch Cydia and find out that BigBoss repo was empty. I had no idea why this happened but then I saw ModMyi repo was also totally empty. Thinking it was just a temporary thing, I rebooted my phone, launched Cydia again to see that it was still pretty much the same. I ran a few queries on Google search, came up with some advice that didn't work. Honestly, without Big Boss repo, it seemed like the whole essence of jailbreaking was defeated. I tried adding back the source but Cydia wouldn't allow me. The source URL is http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/ but unlike other sources, you can't add this to … [Read more...]

Post Status Updates and Photos to Facebook Via iOS on iPhone / iPad / iPod touch

how to post to facebook via iPhone

While some speculated it's probably due to a fallout between Apple and Facebook, others assume that the Facebook application for iOS developers just didn't think it's necessary to show which device photos and status updates are shared from. Unlike Blackberry that shows something like "via blackberry" below posts shared through the phone's native Facebook app, the same doesn't appear on iPhones. Instead, it appears like you're sharing through your web browser instead of Facebook app. I'm not that sure it's a big deal if your posts displays "via mobile" or whatever since you're still actually on mobile but the truth is that quite a number of iPhone users would love to see their photos and … [Read more...]

How to Unlock iOS 6.0.1 on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4

unlock iPhone 3gs iphone 4 ios 6.0.1

If you haven't jailbroken your iPhone because you're not sure if iOS 6.0.1 could be unlocked, you probably should do it right now since Ultrasn0w Fixer unlocks most A4 devices. I've already jailbroken my iPhone and unlocked it and everything works fine. Right now, Ultrasn0w 1.2.7 won't unlock iOS 6.0.1 directly but with the aid of Ultrasn0w fixer, you can be sure your phone would be unlocked. This unlock works on the following basebands on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4: 04.26.08 05.11.07 05.12.01 05.13.04 01.59.00 06.15.00 If your baseband happens to be one of these, then you're lucky and you can definitely go ahead with this. I did this successfully on an iPhone 3GS and a couple … [Read more...]

Jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 Untethered on iPhone 3GS. iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G Still Tethered.

I didn't upgrade to iOS 6 because of several reasons. One of them being the bugs reported and the fact that Google Maps would be gone made me stick with iOS 5.1.1. Again, tethered jailbreak doesn't sound like a good thing and the most important reason I decided not to upgrade was because I may not be able to unlock the new OS. My phone totally relies on hacktivation to work and I didn't want to forfeit that with a iOS 6 upgrade. Anyway, iOS 6.0.1 was released a couple of days ago with bug fixes announced and I was curious to see what it looks like so I finally upgraded to iOS 6.0.1, jailbroke the phone and even unlocked it. However, I made sure I saved my SHSH blobs for 5.1.1 in case I need … [Read more...]

TinyUmbrella Updated: How to Save SHSH Blobs

how to save SHSH blobs locally on your computer

With the new iOS 6.0.1, it's only right to save your SHSH blobs locally before upgrading to the latest firmware. Saving your SSH blob locally on your computer enables you to downgrade your iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch easily even when Apple stops signing that OS for your device. Cydia automatically caches your SHSH blob and once you launch Cydia, it should be right on the homepage but I'm the careful type who would rather have it on my hard drive. Who knows, Apple's next OS may be buggy as hell or rather not that easy to jailbreak and one might wish to revert back to the previous version which they may no longer be allowing at that time. As shown above, Cydia shows available SHSH blobs … [Read more...]

How to use iPhone or iPad as USB Flash drive on Windows

how to use your iPhone as a usb flash drive

Quite a lot of people who just got an iPhone or iPad often wonder how to use the huge mass memory as USB flash drive instead of just for music, videos and apps. Connecting your phone through USB will only display your photo folder under "My Computer" and the drive is just a ROM (Read Only Memory), you can't write data into it. There are so many apps that lets you use your iPhone or iPad just like a pen drive but in most cases, you still need iTunes to move files between your mobile device and computer but no jailbreak is needed to do this. Some of these apps include: 1. iFiles ii. Phone Drive iii. USB Flash Drive All these apps work similarly but I personally use iFiles though … [Read more...]
