The initial battles between iOS and Android operating systems promised exclusive content for users. Fast forward a year or two and the reality of the matter is that developers are now producing content across all platforms.
There are few programmes that have been developed for Android operating systems exclusively, but there are a few which could make iPhone owners green with envy, especially in the game department. Here are our top 5 Android Exclusive apps.
OnLive
OnLive are currently shaking up the gaming world with their new approach. The OnLive gaming service is based around streaming, meaning you can play games that are being run elsewhere on the internet. That enables you to play modern computer game titles available on PC, PS3 and Xbox360 on your mobile phone. All you need is a fast internet connection (be sure to connect to a wireless connection or you will use your mobile data allowance in a no time) and a modern android handset such as the HTC One or the Galaxy S3.
If your current phone doesn’t support OnLive, be sure to look into HTC One deals as it has the processing and graphical power and most importantly screen size that is perfect for gaming.
Emulation
Apple users are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to open source material. While Apple essentially controls what users can do with their handsets, there is far more freedom with Androids. For those who love playing classic games from the Nintendo and Sega MegaDrive days, emulator allows you to play all the classics you grew up with, something that Apple are completely against. Pretty much every title imaginable is available so you will never get bored. If that isn’t enough to get apple users red in the face, I don’t know what is!
Experiment 13
This game is a Sony Xperia exclusive, making it an Android exclusive by proxy. That being said, it’s one of the most fun mobile games we’ve got to grips with. It’s a puzzle game where you play a character who has been accidentally transported to another dimension. The unique mechanic of this game is that you can tilt the world round 90 degrees, making it possible to pass obstacles and enemies.
Little Empire
If you’re looking for an addictive mobile MMO, look no further than Little Empire. This game is incredibly well designed and looks great on the handsets we tested it on. You can build your castles defences and play against friends or others online, attacking one another. This is mobile real time strategy at its best.
EA Origin
Yet to be released, EA’s Origin is expected to come to Android users in the coming year, allowing users to make use of many of EA’s free to play games. This will be an Android exclusive on launch.

This goes to show that the android os is superior.

Probably not. You need a powerful Android device for real but you’re not actually downloading the games, you’re stream it through Onlive. What is needed to run the games is a strong wi-fi connection.
