This is the very first giveaway since this blog started in 2010. Are you wondering why it took so long? I don’t know but maybe I was just waiting for the right time or maybe I never gave it much thought. It’s been almost two years and the simple fact is that your support is one of the major factors that still keeps the site alive. I just have to say a big thank you! We have a lot of readers and this giveaway may not particularly interest you if you’re not actively into blogging but we promise to come up with more giveaways as time goes on.
The next one, which will come when this is over, is a guest posting giveaway. I’ll be submitting a SEO optimized guest post on the winner’s tech blog but let’s get this over with first.
Three winners are going to emerge and the prizes are listed below:
1st prize: Genesis theme + framework + 10 premium child themes (worth over $300)
(Included child themes are Generate, Focus, Child, Blissful, Expose, Agency, Angentpress and more)
2nd prize: Genesis theme + framework only (worth $59.95)
3rd prize: A free domain name pointed to your .blogspot blog (worth $10)
Why the heck do I need Genesis theme?
Chill! I know you have a cool theme on your blog already and I’m not disputing the fact that you like how your blog looks presently but you sure need this giveaway. One of the blogs I read is Problogger and Darren Rowse has been using Genesis since only-God-knows-when. Probloggers often choose Genesis theme framework because it has almost everything you need. The theme is easy to customize and upgrading won’t break anything on your site. Did you know most of the functionality you install plugins for come bundled with Genesis theme? Let me give you a few more reasons why you need it:
- It’s SEO optimized, you probably won’t need that All-in-One SEO pack or Yoast SEO you have installed if you’re using Genesis.
- There are lots of child themes to choose from and that makes customization very easy. With child themes, it’s easy to customize your blog.
- It’s easy to choose any layout without changing your whole theme. You can choose to have a one-column layout, 2-column or even 3.
- As a web developer, it’s easier to work on client websites using Genesis. Some child themes are just perfect for building a standard business website using WordPress.

What about the free domain name?
I doubt if I need to tell you the reasons you need a custom domain name for your blog because I believe you’re already planning to purchase one. A custom domain name gives your blog an identity of its own plus you’re taken as a serious blogger. I’m likely to visit a site on Google search having a custom domain name that a blogspot domain. We all know how it goes.
I’ll help you purchase the domain name and do the necessary DNS settings that needs to be done to point it to your blog. Did I tell you have the freedom to choose the name of the domain yourself? I’ll hand over over the username and password and it’s all yours. By the way, I’m registering with Gossimer. I’ve been with these guys since 2009.

Other thing that amuses me is the responsive design talk
Responsive design is one of the most discussed topic these days in modern web technologies.By responsive design one means to make a site’s design responsive to the screen size on which the site is being browsed.eg. if a mobile opens it , it will show clickable menus, and readable text without zooming, and when a computer screen browses that site it does the same.
Many probloggers has shifted their sites and changed the designs to make them responsive, others are left behind or still are waiting for a verdict.Yes , verdict ! they want a solid confirmation of things before they make their sites responsive , they need some questions answered before they go responsive.
If I won these themes, it will be a great opportunity for me to find more correct words over responsive design. It converts or not. Lead genration is affected or not.
