Facebook recently introduced a new kind of profile that tells your story in a different way that is yet to be seen on other social networks. It’s a great way to present your whole life story through your facebook profile and show precious moments you might even have forgotten. It’s yet another innovation from facebook as they seem to be doing a lot of upgrades in the last couple of weeks. These upgrades can be clearly seen as an attempt to outsmart google plus and other competing social networks because most of these upgrades sometimes leave users’ privacy options in question.
Although this Timeline feature is seen as a big step towards making sharing easier and more fun, a lot of people criticized it because they claimed it makes it harder to control their privacy. Facebook timeline actually presents your profile in a new way and shows everything you’ve shared since you joined facebook by default.
Things You Should Know Before Signing Up
Some people who tried out timeline profile claimed that facebook murdered their privacy and wished they never used it. Some wished they had their old profile back while others just love it. Basically, timeline turns your profile to something like a scrapbook that tells everything about you. There are ways to control what you share through your timeline but most users are yet to get used to this. Even though timeline is still an opt-in feature, it will soon be the default profile page for all users as we’ve all witnessed the facebook profile evolution over the years
Timeline shows all your status updates, every photo you’ve posted, applications you’ve used, videos you shared, places you’ve visited and stuffs you might even have forgotten (the good and bad one) all cramped on your profile. You can define what you want your profile to look like by adding stories from the past, middle and present.
How To Get Facebook Timeline
-Login to your facebook account
-Click here to sign up for timeline
-Hit the sign up button at the bottom and wait a few seconds
- Wait for a few days and you’ll get the invitation to try it out on your homepage.
On this page, you can see all the improvements and it’s quite beautiful to look at, it’s got certain things that makes it tight and transforms your old, boring profile to something that looks like an interesting personal webpage. You can try it out if you’re not so paranoid about sharing and your facebok privacy. There are ways to control what you share with timeline and this will be posted in one of my future posts as it’s it’s still in beta stage and lots of things are still bound to change.
