How To Hard Reset Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

There are several ways to hard reset your Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Android smartphone.

The easiest way is by clicking Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage
Then enter the number 1234 and press Yes.

Another way is by turning off the phone, pressing and holding the two silver keys (left and right) situated just below the screen. Now insert the stylus pen into the tiny hole which is situated around the bottom right of the back of the device for 5 seconds. Follow the on screen instructions.
It is advisable to back up your data before performing a hard reset.

Also note that a soft reset can be performed by ONLY inserting the stylus pen into the tiny hole for 5 seconds while the phone is on.

If the above method isn’t working on your Xperia X1, then follow these steps:

1. Hold volume down key + power key simultaneously
2. The phone will turn into boothrom mode (screen is like rainbow)
3. Hold th 2 silver buttons just right below the screen and insert the stylus into the hole which is situated around the bottom right of the back of the device for some seconds
4. After a while press R on keyboard to perform hard reset.
